Is COVID still in England?

A common question still asked, is if COVID is still around in England. The unfortunate answer to this question is that yes, COVID is still around and it’s here to stay. It is very unlikely that COVID-19 will disappear. What will happen, is that people will start to develop a resistance to it and become more and more immune to it, making it no different to the average flu.

As of 22nd July 2023, there were 3087 people that had tested positive for COVID in the last 7 days. As of 30th June 2023, there were 85 COVID related deaths in the last 7 days.

People are still increasingly worried about COVID and its impact – which is reflected in the number of virus tests conducted in England, between 18th July and 25th July 2023, which was estimated to be around 29,451.

Coronavirus is still in England, and is causing deaths in England. So we recommend everyone that is worried or has health risks or conditions that could be worsened to take necessary precautions. Keep sanitising, keep wearing your masks and make sure you have taken your coronavirus vaccines to help save you from some of the nasty and unbearable symptoms of coronavirus.

Stay safe everyone!
